When plants become music

Music of the Plants offers a remarkable way to experience the relationship between people and the plant world.

By detecting variations in a plant’s electrical activity and translating them into musical notes, the technology allows us to listen to an evolving musical expression created through interaction with the plant.

Connect

A vision inspired by research and deep listening

Music of the Plants began at Damanhur in Italy in the late 1970s, when researchers explored ways to understand and interact with the plant world.

By translating variations in plants’ electrical activity into sound, these early experiments evolved into the technology known today as Music of the Plants.

Continuing to develop through research, observation and musical exploration, Music of the Plants invites us to experience nature differently.
